The Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission administers the Oklahoma Bred Program. They perform the functions of accreditation for Racing Stock, Broodmares and Stallions. They also issue monetary rewards to breeders and/or owners after the horse qualifies for an award. In 2007 Oklahoma Bred supplements which were paid out totaled $2.7 million dollars, an increase of 62% over 2006.
Money is available in purses at each racetrack and additional awards for breeders and stallion owners.
At Remington Park & Fair Meadows Tulsa – Oklahoma Bred money is paid in every race and is divided 50% to purses, 34% to mare owners, and 16% to stallion owners
At Will Rogers Downs – Oklahoma Bred money is paid in every race and is currently divided 70% to purses, 20% to mare owners, and 10% to stallion owners.
At Blue Ribbon Downs – Oklahoma Bred money is available to races restricted to Oklahoma Breds, and is divided 50% to purse, and 34% to mare owners and 16% to Stallion owners.
