ADDITIONAL OK BRED FUNDS ADDED
On September 26, 2007 an additional $4,500 per day was added to Oklahoma Bred purses and an equal amount to the breeders awards. This will be in effect through the end of the meet.
With the previous amount of increases at the beginning of the meet and these funds, it represents an increase of approximately $1,000,000 in funds for Oklahoma purses and breeders awards.
OKLAHOMA BRED FUNDS INCREASED AT REMINGTON BY $730,000
Through discussions with the Thoroughbred Racing Association of Oklahoma, Remington Park and the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission, an additional $730,000 is being added to the Oklahoma Bred Funds for overnight races at the meet beginning August 2, 2007. This will represent an across the board increase of $600 in purse money and $600 in breeders’ awards.
The Oklahoma Bred Funds at BRD will also be increased by $275 per race to purses and another $275 to breeders’ awards.
These increases are for the 2007 race meetings only and next year’s levels will be determined at a later date. The Oklahoma Thoroughbred Association, in discussions with the TRAO, was very positive to the increase in purses, which is another indication that owning and breeding Oklahoma Breds is to be more of an incentive than in previous years.
